Period Pains Difference To Pregrancy Cramps

SAMSON - SURVIVORS (1979)

Paul Samson (1953 - 2002. RIP) was one of those musicians (guitarist in this case) remained tireless in his long career in the semi-darkness, releasing albums and giving thousands of concerts, (the most famous, the Reading Festival in 1981) without making an impact worldwide. And yet, never threw in the towel, making them worthy of admiration and indicates their true love for the music performed. From a standpoint of the history of Heavy Metal, the band Samson is remembered and known for two related reasons.

Samson One of them is that this is the band that Bruce Dickinson was issued under the name Bruce Bruce, before gaining great fame and fortune in Iron Maiden.Curiosamente in the early days of Samson, had also occupied another battery then go to Iron Maiden: Clive Burr. The second, the two albums in which they sang Dickinson ('Head On', 1980, and 'Shock Tactics', 1981), are undoubtedly two of the NWOBHM classics, with songs and outstanding musicianship of guitarist Samson plus the presence of the enigmatic masked drummer Thunderstick (Barry Graham). This debut from 1979, 'Survivors', was recorded months before Dickinson joined the band, and was recorded by both training under the trio formed by Samson, Aylmer and Thunderstick, with Samson himself assuming the vocal duties, although Dickinson appears in both the appropriations and drawing on the cover, and most of the songs are composed in collaboration with bassist John McCoy (Gillan). Following the departure of Dickinson and Thunderstick (and later, bassist Chris Aylmer (1957 - 2007. RIP), Samson goes through a transition to a Hard Rock that does not hide his roots 'Blues' with new vocalist Nicky Moore. Paul Samson remained active, recording sporadically and collaborating with various artists until his death in 2002. Samson and his colleagues are certainly worthy of respect, admiration and appreciation for their dedication to good heavy metal.
