Racer X were sponsored in the beginning by Mike Varney, which is a guarantee of quality and although Lethal Street does not have a shiny production, it does sound pretty raw, fierce and majestic like to remind you why you love this music. Racer X was one of the many bands that swarmed Los Angeles in the mid 80's, only consisted of four great geniuses of music. Besides the aforementioned Gilbert, Jeff Martin, John Alderete and Gschoesser Harry stepped closer to 'merge' technical virtuosity and wonderful high school with the aggressiveness and power of metal over 'vulgar', as it were somehow getting so please everyone: those who want an electric guitar clinic and those who play racquet with relish. As a cross between Yngwie Malmsteen or Steve Vai with Judas Priest or Accept ... the result ... a thirsty beast of metal but with a brain overdeveloped. The perfect ... Racer X!!.
