STRATUS - THROWING SHAPES (1984)





Stratus, the project launched by the former Iron Maiden-battery Clive Burr (originally under the name of Escape) alongside the brothers Troy of the then (1984) Praying Mantis inactive and vocalist Bernie Shaw, enjoyed short-lived. In fact only published this work before dissolving. And that was at that time what might be called a supergroup, but the Goddess Fortuna was not on his side. stratus Perhaps it was the fact no man's land to stay musically speaking, since 'Throwing Shapes' is an album too "squishy" for the Heavy Metal fan more loudly, and too "uncommercial" for her younger sisters. The fact is that, while not a bad album, it is noted that the matter was still a bit green did not materialize, and that despite opening for Motley Crue in the British leg of his European tour in 1985. For whatever reason, things did not even have time to mature and after the aforementioned tour and a few concerts in the British Isles, the brothers revived Troy Praying Mantis, Clive Burr joined another failed project, the 'Desperados' of Dee Snider, Bernie Shaw of Uriah Heep and the legendary keyboardist Alan Nelson to the Irish Mama's Boys. And red bunting ....
